Over at Flickr, a user named thexfile has a tropical photo that really caught my eye. The palm tree looks sharp and the water so clear. I would give almost anything to be on this beach!
This is just one of many very cool photograph’s you will find from this user.

Web Design Library has an interesting tutorial on how to take a photograph and add an abstract twist to it. In this example they start with a photograph of some clouds.

While I was at a Memorial Day parade today there were a pair of A-10 Thunderbolt II jets that flew overhead. It’s always a treat to see these aircraft in person…..well, at least on peaceful terms. I can see why they are feared on the battlefield - they can literally turn on a dime, not to mention their 30 mm GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling gun mounted on the nose.
This was the perfect opportunity for me to snap a couple of shots to see if I could get anything wallpaper worthy. While these are not the most close up shots in the world, having them against a clear blue sky makes for a clean uncluttered wallpaper.

Derek over at 5ThirtyOne has some cool shots taken at a boat yard and is providing them as widescreen (2560 x 1600) wallpapers. Actually, there are 4 and you can download them in a nice little 8MB zip file.

Micheal Bay recently released some hi-res artwork from the upcoming Transformers movie to be released this summer.
Car enthusiast site dieselstation.com was nice enough to put together some wallpapers from that artwork.
I grew up watching Transformers in the 80’s so I’m pretty excited to see how well the old cartoon will translate using today’s CGI capabilities.

Welcome to wallpaperalley.com. My hope is to build this into a reliable and respectable wallpaper site directory/search engine. Nothing is automated and no link farming can be found here. I will be maintaining this site myself by hand…..I must be crazy, but I think it will work.
To keep up with the lastest updates you can subscribe to the RSS feed.
If you are someone who creates wallpapers and have your own website, I encourage you to submit your site.
I, myself, have been running my own wallpaper/personal website since 2001.
This is my first attempt at blogging and creating a directory based site. I will usually keep my posts short, to the point….and hopefully on topic.
With that said, let’s get this ball rolling!
